Journal 7: How We Can Become Close Friends!

Knowing each others in high school, we are still our closest friends. It is strange that we have several different characteristics.
To begin with, while I has to study hard to apply for university, he spend more time playing tennis. His reason is that tennis will be his job; he wants to become a teacher who trains tennis player. Despite his poor scores in school, I really admire him. At that time, studying hard was considered the best way to be successful, getting a good job and earning recognition. My friends, however, chose the sport for his future. He earned money from teaching tennis when he studied in a university that train only athletes. In contrast, I still spent my parents' money when studying in college.
Moreover, his characteristic is quite aggressive, while I am sometimes introvert and mild. It is easy to see that we are completely different. Nevertheless, this difference help we not argue with each others. When he is angry, I am keep silent and listen. Then I talk to him after he is calm. That's why we are still friends now.
In my experience, "birds of a feather attract together" is right. We do not need to have the same hobbies or favorites to communicate with each others. Different ones also can work well. We discuss about the same topic; it may be boring. What if we talk about a wide variety of our hobbies? Our conversation will keep going longer and longer.
